Once in Canada, provincial certification and eventually the Red Seal become your career accelerators.

Tip: if your experience is with brands common in Canada — Toyota, Ford, GM, Honda, heavy diesel — say so explicitly in your reference letters. Officers and employers both read for it.

Wages and conditions

Licensed technicians typically earn $25–$38/hour depending on province and specialization; heavy-duty and diesel roles trend higher. LMIA rules require at least the prevailing regional wage, and many employers add tool allowances and overtime.
